Artist Statement
I mostly work in black and white photography, not to figure anything out, but to hold onto something before it disappears. My process is intuitive. I’m drawn to moments that carry a feeling, and I try to preserve them as they are, before they shift or fade. Whatever that feeling is, whether it’s awe, melancholy, or discomfort, I want to keep it and then offer it to someone else.
I’m not looking for a specific response. I just want the work to make you feel something. Any response is enough.
What isn’t always visible is that each image is an attempt to share a moment I experienced, something I felt and didn’t want to lose, something I’m still trying to hold onto.
